St. Lawrence Church Oxhill Introduction & Services
OgImage:
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce and
welcome you to St Lawrence’s Church, Oxhill.
St Lawrence is a place of quiet beauty, peace and sanctuary,
and is open to anyone who would like a few minutes of reflection in
God’s company. Whether you are a regular Church goer, attend an occasional
Service or very rarely step within the walls of a church, the Church is an
important feature of the village, both as a building and as part of our community.
We have a varied pattern of Services, including Communion
and Non-Communion Services, Evensong and Family Services. You will find details
in the Oxhill News. Stay afterwards for coffee and a chat. We change the pattern
of services from time to time in response to people’s needs and we always like
to hear people’s views about what they would like. St Lawrence’s welcomes
people of all faiths and of none.
As well as services, St Lawrence’s provides occasional
reflection groups, special events for families, such as ‘Messy Church’ and regular
social and fund-raising events are held, which have included Sunday lunch in
the Old Chapel and a Harvest Barn Dance. There is a choir which welcomes anyone
who simply enjoys singing, which meets for special events throughout the year.
Reverend George Heighton is our Vicar and Rev Cannon Jill
Tucker is our Area Dean and she lives in Oxhill.
We produce a weekly emailed newssheet – The Grapevine. If you would like to be added to the mailing
list, please email Jill below:
